The Road To A Healthier Lifestyle

Congratulations on deciding to give yourself the best possible gift anyone can give you - a healthy lifestyle. Because when you live a healthy life, everything else just seems to fall into place. More specifically, life gets a little easier to handle. The best part is that you don't need cash in the bank to make the change.

And to help you reach this fantastic new goal, here are five to get into a healthy lifestyle, and staying there.

1. In Your Mind, The World Is As Dry As A Desert

Don't you get irritated when people tell you the same thing over and over again? Especially when it's about drinking more water. And in the moment you hear those words, you probably want to punch the person saying them into next Sunday. But...you are really mad at yourself for procrastinating so long. Don't put it off any longer, because water is just as important as the blood flowing through your veins. In fact, most of your body is water! And just because you won't pay the same price for water as you would for gold, which one of the two would you rather have when you get stranded on an island? Or after running a marathon? Or after sitting in hot traffic all day? After having amazing sex? Never underestimate the power of water my friend, because it boosts your energy, aids your digestive system and all your other organs, it feeds the brain oxygen, and it keeps you alive god-dammit! Just five glasses a day and you'll start feeling like new.

2. Get Your Diet Straight With Real Food And Controlled Portions

There's a book entitled, In Defense Of Food, which was written by Mike Pollan. Be sure to read it if you haven't already, seeing as the guy is onto something. He says:

- Start eating real food and don't be shy with the fruits, grains, and vegetables

- Avoid food that has been pre-packaged and doesn't offer any nutritional value

- Pay attention to calorie intake, even when it's coming from healthy fruits and veggies

- A slice of white bread is like eating cardboard, or freshly made cardboard if you will, and it's like eating calories without gaining anything but weight

- Mostly eat plants and fruits, seeing as they taste great and provide an extensive range of goodness

3. Get Some Sleep Man

You'll notice that determined people usually give up their sleep first when there aren't enough hours in the day. Little do they know how vital sleep is to stay healthy and energized. This is your body's way of healing itself from stress, pain, trauma, and you need to follow a solid pattern if you want to live that healthy lifestyle.

4. Don't Forget To Get Mental

Just like you need to take care of your physical body, you need to take care of your mental health. In other words, you want to win the battle against depression and anxiety. One of the best ways to do this is to get out more and socialize. Learn to laugh a little more and spending time in other people's company.

5. Take Care of your Lungs

Smoking is one of the worst vices there are out there and can cause severe health issues in both the long and the short term. Switching to ecigs has been shown to help you get off cigarettes and though possibly not ideal, is a lot better than smoking and tastier too as users of this rainbow road ejuice proclaim.

6. Work All That Sexy You Are Hiding Away

Yes, you knew it was coming, it's the tip to start getting active! And your options are more than just extensive. From yoga and pilates to CrossFit, kickboxing, or just running around the block ten times, start getting your sexy ass into gear. If you can't get to the gym for thirty minutes, be active during the day. Take the stairs, stand while you eat, walk while you talk on the phone, just start getting more active.

As a final thought, listen to your body and the signals it has always been sending you. And it's begging you to make a few changes.
